As we all know, an item frame in Minecraft is made by placing 1 leather in the center cell and sticks in the outer cells of the crafting table and is used to showcase stuff.

But what about invisible item frame, how do you get them?

In this article, I’m going to discuss that exact topic: How to get invisible item frames in Minecraft (both Java and bedrock).

Before diving into the invisible item frame, let’s discuss an integral part of Minecraft: a fast mouse-clicking speed. This is an essential factor in Minecraft games to check your clicking speed take an online click speed test and know your rank according to your CPS score.

What Is The Invisible Item Frame?

An invisible item frame is nearly the same as an item frame, but the one, obvious feature that makes it different from the common item frames is that it doesn’t appear to be visible.

It is used for a variety of builds and projects because of its invisible property.

Despite not being visible, you can still place items in it and even rotate those items by using your hand. Download Minecraft APK to get started and create an invisible item frame today!

How To Get Invisible Item Frame In Java?

As most of us know, Minecraft is divided in 2 different categories on the basis of the platform and features: bedrock and java.

Java includes PC and Mac, while Bedrock includes all types of consoles such as Windows and Minecraft pocket edition (PE).

A player can get an invisible item frame in Minecraft using this code in Java:

/give @s item_frame{EntityTag:{Invisible:1}}

How Do I Execute This Code:

Open your chat window or command menu.

Type in the code and select who to provide the item frame.

@p — the nearest player

@r — random player

@a — all players

@e — all entities

@s — the entity executing the command

Run the code by pressing enter and check your inventory.

Some important points to know:

Always use this code on java only because the item frame is not an entity in Minecraft bedrock edition.

Make sure you are playing on at least version 1.16 of Minecraft because in most cases commands don’t work in earlier versions.

Type in the code exactly as you see it, else you’ll get an error message.

Cheats should be enabled or it will not work.

How To Get An Invisible Item Frame In Bedrock?

The Java edition of Minecraft is just played on PC and Mac. On the other hand, the Bedrock edition is played on a variety of devices, including: pocket edition, Windows, Nintendo, Xbox and many more.

The above code that I told you that you can use in Java edition to get the invisible item frame cannot be done in Bedrock edition and it is because most blocks in the Bedrock edition are solid blocks and not entities.

But this doesn’t mean that you cannot get an invisible item frame in Minecraft Bedrock edition.

You can, but you cannot use any type of code to get it. In place of that, you need to use mods. Now how will you find the mods?

Open a new tab in your browser and go to google.com

Search “Minecraft Invisible Item Frame Mod” + “Your device”. For example, if you have Minecraft pocket edition and you want it to add an invisible item in it then you just need to search “Minecraft invisible item frame mod pocket edition” and you’ll have some results.

Now, you just need to download the best one from a trusted site like — twitch, mcpedl, etc.

If you are having any trouble with setting up the mod, read more about it here.

Note: Sometimes, there aren’t any mods for some specific platforms in which case you may be out of luck

After installing the mod, your current item frame will be replaced with an invisible item frame, and you can simply pick it up from the inventory.

Tip: If you are downloading the mod for Minecraft PE and Xbox then make sure it has .mcpack extension.

How To Do It On Pocket Edition?

Go to mcpedl official website and search for the mod “invisible item frame” and then download it

The file size will be close to 1mb, click on it and choose Minecraft to open it

Let the game load the mod and then move into the settings of your world where you want to get the invisible item frame

Go into resource pack selection and under available group, choose this particular mod and run the game

Choose the item from the inventory or make one and see the magic.

And with this last segment, the article is completed.

I hope you learned something new from this article about getting an invisible item frame in Minecraft!

Can mobs spawn on slabs? The short answer: No. However, there are some considerations to keep in mind.

Mobs generally cannot spawn on slabs, but sometimes they actually can under certain conditions. What is required to spawn a mob? Is there still a way to get a mob spawned even if the floor is made out of slabs? Can mobs spawn on slabs?

Now let’s get those questions a proper answer.

What are the requirements for mobs to spawn?

It depends on which mob you are referring to. When we talk about a mob spawning we generally think of the hostile mobs that spawn at night, which is an indicator of their first requirement: the dark.

There are 15 levels of light in Minecraft. Hostile mobs are able to spawn once the block has a level of light of 7 or less. You can check out the level of light for any block by pressing F3.

You can increase the light level of blocks by placing torches around them. The closer they are to the source of light the brighter the block will be. You can also use glowstone or lamps with the same effect.

The second requirement is the surface on which the mob will be spawned. Mobs cannot spawn in the air, they need a solid “full” block on which they can spawn. This is the reason why zombies don’t spawn on slabs. Slabs of any type are not considered a “full” block unless you have placed 2 slabs on top of one another to form a full block.

Keep in mind that you cannot place slabs anyway to want to create a full block. You need to follow a pattern in which all the other blocks are placed in Minecraft. Here is an example:

Can I manually spawn a mob on a slab?

Yes, you can spawn some mobs such as chickens in case you have eggs to throw at the slabs. They do not care for the type of block they hit. If you are playing on creative mode you can also spawn every mob that has a Spawn Egg.

In survival mode, however, there are much fewer egg types to be found and as such, you can’t spawn that many mobs manually in general. You can only create a dark place and hope for the best, with “full blocks” or correctly placed slabs as the floor.

Can I use slabs for my spawner farm?

Yes, you can use slabs for your spawner farm BUT ONLY if you still follow the placement pattern shown above. Slabs can be very useful in mob farms to designate blocks you DO NOT want your enemies to spawn on, especially because you have to be very careful with how you place torches near the spawner if you still want it to create mobs.

Also, make sure that even though you can place slabs as your floor inside the spawn room, you should still use full blocks for the outer corners of the room. This way you prevent any light from reaching through holes and openings created by the slabs.

Is there a difference in which type of slabs I use?

No. You can use any type of slabs you want and mobs will still spawn as there are no slabs that are capable to illuminate light.

Keep in mind however that light from torches or daylight CAN pass through slabs so that might be the reason why your farm is still very bright even though you have no sources of light inside it.

Now I know why mobs don’t spawn on slabs. Why don’t they just “fix” them to be a “full” block and let them spawn in the next update?

Well, because slabs have developed themselves as a way of “Minecraft logic” and there are hundreds if not thousands of devices, structures and machines, especially when it comes to mob farms, which include slabs as an essential part of their structure and they need slabs to be just the way they are. They are used to create pathways without any dangers of encountering hostile mobs where you don’t want them to be. It is extremely unlikely that the slab logic will change now.

What are slabs useful for?

We have already given some examples of how to use slabs in Minecraft.

The first example is as simple as it gets: decoration.

There are 30+ types of different slabs that you can use to decorate your space however you want! Their biggest bonus is their half-block height which makes them perfect for house ceilings so you don’t bump your head every time you jump.

They are also perfect for expensive floors as they allow you to cover 2 times more blocks with the same amount of resources.

Some of the slabs that exist in Minecraft

The second example of how to use slabs is to use them as windows. Their advantage over “normal” windows is that you can actually interact with the world on the other side of the window without breaking the block. What’s even better, if you place your slabs carefully you can make yourself invisible to the mobs on the other side while you can still shoot them from a safe place.

This is most commonly used in spawn farms where you place a slab to cover the upper side of the block. This way you block the enemy’s sight of you which makes them unable to respond to your attacks. There are other ways to achieve this similar effect, but this specific one is usually most recommended when creating skeleton farms as they tend to be the most “problematic” type of mob to farm.

Summary

So to sum it all up, what to think of slab blocks? Are they useful, pretty, efficient, and safe, or just annoyingly small and useless? I would say they are one of the most useful types of blocks we have in Minecraft. Even though they don’t let mobs randomly spawn, if they are placed correctly they can still help you farm whichever mobs you want. On the other side, if you ever feel unsure whether or not slabs would be useful for the job you can always just stack two of the same slabs on top of one another to create the usual, normal “full” block.

Everyone is already pretty familiar with sand in Minecraft. It is a block affected by gravity, mostly found in deserts near water regions. To put it simply, sand is generated naturally in most biomes.

But what about Minecraft red sand? What is its usage and where can we find It? Is it important to gameplay? Can we easily find it? Let’s find out!

What is Minecraft red sand?

Red sand is a block in Minecraft which is a variation of sand. Similar to regular sand, red sand is affected by gravity and follows the laws of physics. Red sand was first seen for the first time in version 1.7.2.

Where can we find it?

Being a naturally-occurring block, red sand can be found only in (Badlands) Mesa biomes. Generally, it generates in four-block-deep layers, supported by sandstone below.

How can we break it?

Like most ground blocks, red sand can be broken without tools, but a shovel is the fastest method of obtaining it. Here are some of the breaking times depending on the material your shovel is made of:

Note: Time is calculated with no enchantments and no players status effects. It is also worth pointing out that tools made from netherite and gold have the fastest breaking times.

Can we trade it?

Yes, red sand can be traded. Wandering traders sell 4 red sand blocks for one emerald.‌

Usage:

Except for decoration, red sand can be used for a few crafting recipes:

Red sandstone

TNT

Glass (smelting)

Red Sandstone

Crafting red sandstone is quite simple and it takes nothing but red sand as the only ingredient. You can make it in the following way:

Place two blocks of red sand in the first row.

Place two red sands in the second row.

Click and drag the red sandstone into your inventory to obtain It.

If confused, follow the picture for visual instruction.

TNT

To make TNT, you’ll need just one more ingredient besides sandstone, and that is: gunpowder.

Gunpowder can be obtained from Dungeons, Desert Temples or Village Chests. It can also be obtained by killing Creepers, who drop 0-2 gunpowder blocks when killed. If they explode, they will not drop anything. Ghasts and Witches also occasionally drop gunpowder.

Once you have all of the required ingredients, you can make TNT in the following way:

Place one gunpowder, then one red sand, then one gunpowder in the first row.

Place one red sand, then one gunpowder then one red sand in the second row.

Place one gunpowder, then one red sand, then one gunpowder in the third row.

Glass

Same as with the original sand block, red sand can also be used for smelting into a glass block. As for the ingredients, you will only need a block of red sand, preferably coal (this be replaced with wood and a Lava Bucket – though that’s much less efficient), and a furnace.

Coal can be mined in caves, found in chests, or combined to make a coal block. It only drops if mined with a pickaxe.

A furnace can be crafted by placing eight cobblestone blocks in all the fields of crafting table except the middle one. Once crafted, it can be used for melting and cooking.

How to make glass:

Place red sand block in the upper field.

Place coal (coal block, lava bucket or any wooden material)

Wait for it to melt then click and drag to obtain it.

Interesting facts about Red Sand

Unlike regular sand, baby turtles cannot hatch on it.

Red sand is required for farming cactus, and can also be used for farming bamboo, sugar cane and kelp.

Sand can be used in the construction of airlocks and mob suffocation traps.

If red sand falls on a torch, it is dropped as a block.

Red sand falls at the same rate when submerged in water, or lava, or air.

Red sand takes about 0.45 seconds to fall one meter.

Blue Orchid is a type of flower that was added in Minecraft version 1.7, specifically in update 0.9.0. It is a non-solid, stackable block (up to 64), switchable between hands or placed on the ground.

Where can I find it:

Blue Orchid can only be found in swamp biomes or snowless taiga biomes. This makes it rarer than, say, poppies or dandelions. They can also be obtained by using Bone Meal on a Grass Block in the aforementioned biomes. It is also unique in that it cannot be found in forests, plains, or, most surprisingly, flower forests, like normal flowers can.

How can I break it:

You can easily break the flower and pick it up by simply left-clicking on the block.

What can I craft with it:

Blue Orchids can be used to craft light blue dye in the following way:

Open crafting table or player inventory.

Place blue orchrid in any of the empty fields.

Pick up the blue dye.

If confused, follow the picture for visual instruction.

Blue Orchids can also be used to craft suspicious stew. It can be done in the following way:

Open crafting table.

Place brown mushroom, red mushroom and blue orchrid in the first row.

Place a bowl in the middle field in the second row.

Pick up suspicious stew.

If confused, follow the picture below for visual instruction.

What can I use it for:

Blue Orchid has more usage than being a decoration block as it is. For example:

Potted Plant, made with just placing a pot on the ground and placing a flower inside it. Any flower can be placed inside the pot, but Blue Orchid is also an option.

Bees Breeding, possible with just right-clicking on any two nearby bees, forcing them to breed. Can be achieved with any flower type, including Blue Orchids.

Composter fill, possible with right-clicking while holding the flower to obtain the bone meal after the composter is full.

Is it possible to eat “healthy“ in Minecraft? If so, what would that diet look like? Find out more in this article about eating a balanced diet in Minecraft!

We’ve already discussed how to have a picnic and produced a proper guide for you to enjoy your meal outdoors while having fun with your online buddies. But when it comes to eating healthy and diverse food, there are a few stricter — but still very fun — rules to follow.

Rule #1: Choose a diet

We can only tell how healthy our Minecraft diet is when we compare it to our real-world ways of eating. Since in the real world there are numerous healthy diets to follow, the same applies to our virtual Minecraft character. There are a bunch of options to choose from.

In the case that some food items are not mentioned in the diet, it would be best to just avoid them since some foods (such as a golden apple) are rarely seen in real life. You can see all Minecraft edibles here.

Here are some of the healthiest science-supported diets according to healthline:

Low-carb, whole-food diet

This diet limits the intake of carbohydrates (which is the reason why it’s called a low-carb diet). This means it restricts you from eating sugary foods, pasta, and bread, while it encourages eating lots of meat, fruits, vegetables, nuts, oils, and more.

For us, in the Minecraft world, this translates to using a diet similar to this one:

Eat: fish (any type), meat (any type except rotten of course), fruits, eggs, pumpkins, and watermelons

Don’t eat: sugar (cakes and pies), wheat (bread and cookies), and starchy vegetables (potatoes, carrots, and beetroot)

Keep in mind that this diet recommends vegetables, but not starchy vegetables — which are basically all vegetables that can be found in Minecraft (except pumpkins and melons). Carrots can be eaten but are best avoided.

Mediterranean diet

It is thought to be the healthiest diet in the world for most of the 20th century. It recommends regional foods commonly eaten around the Mediterranean Sea. This includes a variety of vegetables, fruits, whole grains, and most importantly: fish.

Fish is the basis of this diet and should be the main source of food.

Eat: fish (all types), vegetables (carrots and potatoes), fruits, berries, eggs, and milk

Limit (but not prohibited): sugar (cookies, cakes and pies), bread, meat

Paleo diet

This is mostly considered a weight-loss diet but it is also very healthy in general. It concentrates on eating unprocessed foods prioritizing whole ingredients over ultraprocessed alternatives.

Eat: meat (all types), fish (all types), vegetables (all types), fruits (all types), milk

Don’t eat: sugar (pies, cookies and cakes), grains (bread), stews (both mushroom and rabbit)

Vegan diet

We have all heard of this one. This diet is based exclusively on plant-based foods while it removes all animal products, including meat and dairy, from the diet.

Eat: fruit (all types), vegetables (all types), cookies, bread, and a mushroom stew

Don’t eat: meat, fish, eggs, milk, honey, cakes, rabbit stew

NOTE: While honey is not part of the vegan diet, if you are interested in getting some honey, read up on how to tame honeybees in Minecraft.

Gluten-free diet

The last diet we’ll cover in this article is the gluten-free diet. It is essential to people who are intolerant to gluten which is found in wheat and many processed foods.

This diet is the strictest of all of the above because people intolerant to gluten can experience severe health problems if they consume the wrong type of food.

Eat: eggs, meat, fish, milk, fruits, and vegetables

Don’t eat (at any cost): wheat (bread, cookies, cakes and pies)

Other foods may not be harmful, but if they’re not recommended then it would be best just to avoid them.

Rule #2: Stick to the diet

Once you have chosen the diet it is vital that you stick to it. No diet will make you healthy if you follow it for a day or two. It is a process that should be followed for months if not throughout the entire playthrough of the game.

One of the biggest reasons why diets are hard in Minecraft is the logistical hurdles. You cannot just “buy” the type of foods you need to eat. You have to produce food, grow crops, tame animals, build farms, plant plantations, and possibly spend hours trying to find the specific type of food you are allowed to eat.

Hard, however, is not impossible. Below are some tips on how to get close with your diet and have a fun time following it instead of it being a drag throughout the game.

Organize your game

This is something you should do before you even start the game. You do not have to write down a long, detailed list about what you should do, but it is recommended that you write some simple bullet points or at least have a plan in mind.

For example, before you start you should be aware of which food(s) you are allowed to eat. This way you can immediately focus on getting the right sources of food at the start which you can expand later in the game.

The second thing you should plan is which food is going to be your main source of food. The best way you can plan this out is by actually starting the game and finding which food you are able to gather easily and efficiently.

It is recommended that you find some highly nutritious food for your main source so you can venture out for longer periods of time while using just 1 slot of inventory as your food supply.

In case you already have a save and you want to continue it by eating healthy the first thing you should do is remove the food you are not allowed to eat. Otherwise, there is a high chance you will eat it when the emergency calls.

The best way to get rid of it is by selling your food to villagers, but if you can’t find any then you can simply drop it in lava or somewhere far so it could despawn.

You should also destroy/sell/repurpose your food supply of unhealthy food into something else (a healthy food supply or something entirely different for decorative, mining, and storage purposes for example).

In the case you like to fish but it is forbidden by your diet and your house is just next to a river, you can either put a glass floor above your river or simply decorate your surroundings so the river is no longer necessary (which certainly requires much more work but it will remove the temptation of trying to fish).

Also, throwing your fishing rod away is just one more type of precaution.

Prepare enough food

This is the biggest diet-killer of them all! You just came out of a fight, went to sleep, and in the morning there is not enough food in the house so you get out and get whatever you stumble upon and stop following your diet.

By the time this happens, it is already too late. You should always have enough food and as it is stated in the organizing section, you should throw the unhealthy food away to avoid any temptations.

The way you can prepare enough food is by making farms or plantations depending on your type of diet.

It is always better to have an extra chest of food than not having enough. Build a chest room and have strictly organized chests which consist of only the food you eat. This makes living healthy so much easier.

Some more tips…

When making plantations keep in mind that 1 block of water can reach up to 3 blocks away to water your plants. This means that for 6 rows of plants you need only 1 row of water to reach all plants. Building your farm this way makes it so much more efficient.

Also, don’t forget to build a fence around your farm. A fence is important because it stops animals from walking over and destroying your crops which can easily happen otherwise — especially if you live next to a forest or in the plains.

See more about farming here.

For animals, you should always have a separate farm which is entirely dedicated to feeding them, because in the other case there is a high chance for you to mistakenly eat their food (e.g. carrots) which might not be a part of your diet.

They should also be separated from each other with a fence so you can feed them and tend to them easily. Mixing separate animals together makes everything much more difficult to manage. Find more help on how to breed and tame animals here.

That should be enough for you to start your journey to a healthier life!

You should also check…

Some other things that might help you with your task are how to trade with villagers so you can sell the foods you no longer need.

There is also an article on Minecraft shovels and hoes which are a necessity in case you want to create a farm.

Besides these two there is a lot more to see on our website mcraftguide which you definitely have to check out! You will find great articles such as one helping you get 96+ diamonds in just one hour!

In any case, I hope you are able to stick to your diet and live a long and healthy life inside of your Minecraft world, and outside. Good luck!

In this article, we will learn about the Frost Walker in Minecraft. We will explore questions including what is it, how can we obtain it, what is it used for, and more!

What is The Frost Walker?

The Frost Walker is an enchantment on boots that creates frosted ice blocks when walking over water and causes the wearer to be immune to damage from certain blocks such as campfires and magma blocks when stepped on.

How can we obtain it?

This is a treasure enchantment that can be obtained only from chest loot, fishing, raid drops, or trading for enchanted books. It cannot be obtained regularly through the enchanting table.

This makes the Frost Walker one of the rarer enchantments in Minecraft and a commonly sought-after enchantment.

How can we use it?

Usage is pretty simple and self-explanatory. Basically, if the player stands on any still (non-moving) water block, that particular block and its surroundings are going to be turned into ice (circle radius‌). This works only if the player is on the ground.‌ The water blocks must also be on the same level as the block being moved to in order to become ice.

Iced blocks can melt after a while, so continuous motion is required for the player to be able to stay above the ice and not fall. Ice created from Frost Walker lasts longer during the night because there is no sunlight to melt it. Frost Walker also eliminates all damage from magma blocks and campfires, but not lava. The boots do not take durability damage while on these blocks and can be used to mitigate damage from ignited charcoal as well.

Useful facts:

Frost Walker and Depth Strider cannot work together at the same time because they cancel each other out.

Enchanted boots with Frost Walker can be applied on foxes when held.‌

We hope you learned more about the Frost Walker, and happy mining!

The axe is a pretty useful tool in Minecraft when it comes to chopping wood and breaking wooden items. But, what if we upgrade it to the highest possible level, making it a Netherite Axe? How do we do this, and what effects does this have?

Axe in Minecraft:

An axe is a tool mainly used to break wood-based blocks and remove the surface layer of certain blocks. It can also be used as a melee weapon since it deals a decent amount of damage. It can be made of wood, cobblestone, gold, iron, diamonds and upgraded with Netherite. The better material you use, the more damage you can deal with it. An axe can also be repaired in an anvil by adding units of the tier’s repair material.

Netherite in Minecraft:

Netherite is a rare material from the Nether, used primarily to upgrade diamond gear. It can be found only in the Nether dimension meaning that making a portal is required if you want to obtain the material. Netherite items are more powerful and durable than diamond, can float in lava, and cannot burn – which is why Netherite Armor is so sought-after. After being found in the Nether, scraps can be smelted from ancient debris.

There are four types of Netherite items:

Ancient Debris

Netherite Scraps

Netherite Ingot

Block of Netherite

Now that we know a bit about Netherite, let’s see what a Netherite Axe is, and primarily, what can we do with it and how can we make it?

Netherite Axe:

Netherite Axe is a tool in Minecraft, with all the properties and abilities of the regular axe. The difference is that a Netherite axe is an upgraded version of a normal Diamond Axe and it cannot burn in lava. It has higher durability and the upgrade makes it faster when used.

How to make a Netherite Axe:

It takes one Netherite Ingot, one Diamond Axe, and one Smithing Table to make a Netherite Axe in Minecraft. First, we will learn how to make a Diamon Axe. It can be made in the following way:

Open crafting table.

Place two diamonds in the first row.

Place one diamond and one stick in the second row.

Place one stick in the middle of the third row.

Pick up your diamond axe.

(If confused, follow the picture below for instructions).

Now that we have a Diamond Axe, and have obtained a Netherite Ingot from elsewhere, it’s time to upgrade our Diamond Axe into a Netherite one. It can be upgraded in the following way.

Open smiting table.

Place diamond axe in the first field.

Place netherite ingot in the second field.

Pick up your netherite axe.

(If confused, follow the instructions as in the picture below)

As well as any kind of axe, a Netherite Axe can also be used to break off wood-based blocks, remove the surface layer of certain blocks, or as a deadly weapon.

We hope you learned how to make a Netherite Axe in this article, and happy mining!

Many of you know that wither is indeed one of the strongest mobs in the whole Minecraft universe; but, is it strong enough to break obsidian blocks on its own? Obsidian blocks are the strongest and hardest blocks to break in the whole game. Let’s find out!

First, we need to learn what wither actually is. Define his abilities, learn about his spawning method, and so on.

What is Wither?

The wither is an undead hostile boss mob in Minecraft which floats and shoots explosive skulls at players and mobs. He looks like an upgraded version of wither skeleton with three heads on his body and no legs. The wither has the greatest natural health of all mobs in the Minecraft universe and is immune to fire, lava, drowning damage, and freezing.

Wither is the only source of nether stars, which are used to craft beacons. When dead, it drops 50 experience points when killed by a player or a tamed wolf. Wither has the highest health in the game with 150 hearts in total (300 life points).

How to spawn Wither?

The wither is spawned by placing 4 blocks of soul sand or soul soil in a T-shape and putting 3 wither skeleton skulls on top of the upper blocks (if confused, see the picture below for reference).

The last thing that has to be placed for the successful wither spawning is one of the three heads. All required material for Wither spawning can be found in the nether dimension, which you will need a nether portal to access.

The wither can be summoned in the overworld, the Nether, or the end dimension. However, it will cause enormous damage to its surroundings and any nearby living things. Please keep this in mind when spawning it. While targeting you, if one of the wither’s projectiles hits you, you will suffer a poison-like wither effect and take damage. Wither has many attack styles and many types of objects he uses in combat.

Now that we learned something about wither, let’s see what information we have about obsidian.

What is obsidian?

Obsidian is a dark purple block known for its high blast resistance and strength meaning that It is the strongest and the hardest block to break in the whole Minecraft world.

How can we find and obtain Obsidian?

Obsidian can be found and made. Making obsidian while pouring water over lava is the easiest and fastest way of creating obsidian blocks. It can also be found as a part of broken Nether portals on the random overworld locations, as a loot item in the Nether bastion remnant, or other non-player-made buildings. Obsidian drops itself only when mined with a diamond or netherite pickaxe; otherwise, it drops nothing. Of course, enchanting a pickaxe with efficiency and using a beacon with haste both drastically decrease the mining time.

For what can we use Obsidian?

Obsidian is useful for building explosion-resistant structures as it has, along with anvils and netherite blocks, a blast resistance of 1200 which is the highest of all blocks obtainable in Minecraft survival mode (together with crying obsidian and block of netherite). Obsidian also cannot be destroyed by the ender dragon. However, ender dragons can traverse obsidian blocks without destroying them. Obsidian can also be used for building nether portals which are used for traveling into the nether dimension. Obsidian is also used as an ingredient for crafting receipts such as the ones shown in the picture below.

Can Wither destroy Obsidian?

Now the question remains: If we have such a high resistance block, can a mob relatively stronger than ender dragon itself destroy it?

The answer is YES. Wither can break obsidian blocks, but it depends on the situation.

Wither can normally launch two types of skulls, blue skulls that eject from the center head and normal black skulls from the side heads. Blue skulls can fully destroy the stronger blocks in Minecraft, like stone blocks and iron blocks. On the other hand, the black skulls can only break weaker blocks like dirt, sand, gravel, and wood. The only way for wither to break Obsidian is by using a blue skull on the Obsidian blocks. Common black skulls are not able to break Obsidian. Wither can also break Obsidian blocks by ramming through the Obsidian continuously. Keep in mind that if spawned in an Obsidian cage, wither can charge up and send off an explosion wave. That wave can also destroy the Obsidian surrounding it.

Crying Obsidian is exactly as hard as the normal Obsidian. Crying Obsidian is just a luminous version of the normal Obsidian, so there is no difference between them when it comes to actually withstanding damage.

So, Obsidian is the best block when fighting against the wither. Having multiple layers of Obsidian keeps your building secured and more stable. We hope you learned more about whether the Wither can break Obsidian in this article, and happy gaming!
